Summary:
Overall responsibility for all the operational engineering functions, Process Engineering, Maintenance plant & Facilities, Jigs fixtures and mandrels and delivering new products and processes on time.
Scope of responsibility will be the overall control of the Engineering processes, be it ownership of current processes, Design of new innovative processes and the machinery and tools required to enable Quality parts to be manufactured in an efficient manner.
Creating a strategy for each of the functions to integrate activities, establishing the responsibilities for each department and ensuring that all the necessary elements of the process are in place to meet customer, TS requirements and eliminating any overlap of functions.
Working together with the Senior Operations Manager & Finance to ensure that the key business measures are achieved, and areas of improvement are identified and acted upon.
Driving Continuous Improvement through at all levels of the Engineering functions as well as promoting Innovations in our processes and technologies
Key Responsibilities
Ø Ensuring adherence throughout the Operations group of the Health and Safety policies and working to improve the environment promoting a culture of safety first.
Ø Co coordinating with the Sales and Logistics functions to ensure sufficient capacity is in place to meet the current and planned output levels required whilst optimising the investment in capital equipment
Ø Working alongside Finance in the analysis of Cost versus actual cost to identify low margin products, developing activities and actions to improve the margins
Ø Working with the Quality Department to improve the internal and external Quality measures through solid Engineering activities, root cause analysis and ensuring that cross line actions are reflected in the Process controls and PFMEA, s to prevent reoccurrences
Ø Responsibility for delivering new products into the manufacturing area on time, overseeing all the necessary requirements of the APQP process and compliance with TS requirements, liaising with the Senior OGC manager as well as Sales will be a key element in determining the overall destination of Manufacturing location.
Ø Developing the Engineering Functions to expand its horizons in terms of new processes, new materials and new technologies along with a culture of continuous Improvement, taking cost out of the current processes will be a key factor in this role.
Ø Working with The Maintenance Manager to change from a culture of Breakdown activities to preventative and predictive practices and setting and reviewing target levels for OEE.
Ø Developing the Jigs and fixtures function to implement a sourcing strategy to increase the output of manufactured items in the UK, as well as a sourcing strategy to support the company’s expansion plans in overseas manufacturing plants
Ø Reporting results against planned targets, preparing the data and overseeing the action planning and execution of activities
Ø Empowering the Management team to take decisions in line with their positions and creating an environment where they can engage their teams to be more inclusive and productive.

Engineering
Previous Experience
A strong Engineering or Manufacturing background
You will be an experienced department Manager
