Summary:
-Your main initial role is to provide technical support for the successful start-up of the new factory.
-Once established the role will be to provide technical support to the manufacturing department to allow successful growth by introducing new products and improving the manufacturing methods.
Key Responsibilities:
Ø Plan and implement installation of machines, jigs and fixture to support the start-up of the new factory with close liaison with colleagues in the process engineers in the UK factory.
Ø Prepare process designs for new product introduction including design and procurement of jigs, tooling and where necessary capital equipment. Commercial implications of your decisions should be taken into account at all stages.
Ø Lead projects for new product introduction into manufacturing to ensure all project requirements are achieved.
Ø Monitor and analyse current manufacturing methods to create improvements including
o cycle time reduction
o yield improvements (scrap reduction)
o process designs to prevent quality concerns
Ø Engage in creative problem solving to address operational issues.
Ø Participate in factory layout changes to facilitate capacity increase or operational improvement.
Education & Qualifications
Ø Apprentice Trained Engineer
Ø An engineering degree or equivalent experience
Previous Experience
Ø Previous experience in a manufacturing environment essential, automotive is desirable
Ø Previous experience of a factory start-up or expansion which includes machine installation testing and commissioning.
Ø Experience of supervision of contractors to ensure safe and accurate work
Ø Although not a long-term requirement of this role, in the short term we require someone that is extremely hands on with the practical skills and experience to lead and physically do the job when required.
Ø Experience in manufacturing process review, improvement and change
Ø Understanding the requirements and implementation of TS16949 including Process Flow, PFMEA and Control Plans
Ø Previous successful experience of managing projects.
Ø Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Ø The ability to use Auto cad / SolidWorks is essential
